Here are some quick tips for storing food!
- Fresh Herbs – Preserve herbs by placing them in an ice tray and filling it with oil. The oil will turn to an opaque once it has frozen. When you are ready to use the herbs, just pop them out of the tray and let it melt on the stove.
- Sour Cream – Store sour cream upside down so all the liquid will be at the bottom when you open it.
- Apples – Rub a little lemon juice on them when storing to keep them from turning brown.
- Leafy Greens (Lettuce, Kale, Chard, etc.) – After washing your greens, line your container with a paper towel. Add your greens to the container and place another paper towel on top. The towels will absorb the moisture and keep your greens from wilting.
